Fr. Luke Meyer is the pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Newman Center, serving the campus of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. A native of Lisbon, ND, Fr. Meyer earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Catholic Studies as an undergraduate at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and pursued graduate theological studies (S.T.B.) at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver, Colorado.
Ordained a priest of the Diocese of Fargo in 2006, he has previously served as a parochial vicar in Wahpeton, North Dakota and later as Chancellor and Director of Liturgy for the Diocese of Fargo, as well as personal secretary to the Bishop of Fargo.
Fr. Meyer began his service to the Newman Center on June 24, 2015 and was officially installed as pastor by Msgr. Brian Donahue, Dean of Deanery III and Pastor of Holy Family Parish, on Sunday August 30, 2015. On the same day, Fr. Meyer made the Profession of Faith and took the Oath of Fidelity.
