The new semester has begun at UND, but life at the Newman Center never stopped!

Over Christmas break, 28 students traveled with myself and our FOCUS missionaries to the Student Leadership Summit in Phoenix Arizona. Find out what we did below.

Peace of the Lord Jesus,

- Fr. Luke Meyer, Pastor
In a different world, I could bring all of you along to SLS. The "Student Leadership Summit" is a gathering of missionaries, bible study leaders, and students to celebrate the sacraments, pray together, and work to become more faithful disciples of Christ.

I can't do justice to the joy our students find there. So please allow me to simply share with you some pictures of our time. Above, you can read the testimony of one of our freshman, who found the friends she was praying for at SLS. Below, you will see Abby, one of our social chairs, ecstatic to be in Phoenix. The center of SLS is the Eucharist, so next to Abby you will see Stephanie in adoration. If you can, imagine over 8,000 people sitting or kneeling in adoration. It is stunning.

The conference was held directly across the street from the beautiful Basilica of St. Mary. Claire, one of our FOCUS Missionaries, captured the center photograph. I ran into a couple of familiar faces at SLS. Our vocations director, Fr. Metzger was there. As was Fr. Cheney from a Newman Center somewhere south of here. Lastly, some of the men who lead bible studies on campus make a point of sitting together during the keynote talks. The keynotes from Fr. Mike Schmitz, Jonathan Reyes and Helen Alvare were very good. You can view all the talks all here.

Thanks be to God for our time in Phoenix. I wish you could have been there.

Double your gift!

Every year, we at the Newman Center participate in Giving Hearts Day. The purpose of this day is to raise a significant portion of our annual budget to ensure that the Church will always be present to the students of UND. What is special about Giving Hearts Day is that thanks to the generosity of matching donors, every dollar you give -- up to $35,000 -- is worth two.

February may seem like it is far way, but there are three ways you can make your gift today, bu scheduling online, mailing, or on Feb 13th. Just click the button below to go to our webpage to choose which way you will help us ignite the fire of faith on campus.

Thank you.
